The answer to a Canadian Armoured Corps request, was the Ram tank whose prototype was rolled-out by the Montreal Locomotion Works in June 1941.
This Canadian built vehicle used the chassis of the US M3 Grant tank onto which was integrated a modified casted steel hull top that accommodated a locally designed turret that could rotate 360°.

As of late 1941 until July 1943: 50 Ram I and 1,899 Ram II have been manufactured.
The improvements of the Ram II were a simplified hull design by removing some hatches, an improved suspension, a more reliable clutch, and above all a greater firepower: a 6-pound gun.
The ammo load was: 92 6-pound shells and 4,000 rounds for the three cal. .30 machine-guns.
The flame-thrower version of the late production Ram II was dubbed "Badger".
The Ronson flame-thrower came from the Wasp vehicles.
This weapon simply replaced the hull mounted machine-gun and was fed by four tanks housed in the tank.
The turret opening was sealed by a slab of armour plating fitted with a small-sized MG turret.
